The idea for minibar started on a crowded Sunday at an outdoor mini golf course. My wife Jamie, our son, and I were stuck waiting with ten groups ahead of us, and I thought, “I wouldn’t mind this if I could just grab a beer and watch the game.” That’s when it clicked – why doesn’t a place like that exist in Maine? After years working in journalism and finance, I decided it was time to create something that brought people together year-round, rain or shine.
Portland was always the obvious choice. My wife, Jamie, and I got engaged on Middle Street, having spent years visiting before buying our home here, and fell in love with this city’s energy. We wanted to add something different to Portland’s amazing food and drink scene – a place where friends can get competitive, couples can have a fun date night, and families can have fun without worrying about Maine weather. This is home now, and we’re committed to being part of what makes this community stronger.
